About Sharon

Sharon's career as a nurse has predominately been in oncology and latterly in clinical research as a Research Nurse Team Leader at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. During her career, Sharon has seen significant developments which have improved outcomes for patients with lung cancer. Immune therapy and targeted treatment were a glimmer on the horizon when she began her career in Lung Cancer Research and she now sees daily the impact these treatments have made on the lives of our patients and their families. Sharon has met and cared for many patient over the years who take a step into the unknown when they consent to participate in clinical research. By participating they are the ones who have influenced the future treatments for lung cancer and continue to make a difference every day. Sharon has been privileged to be a small part of the development of treatments spanning all stages and types of the disease, supporting patients and their families through their participation in clinical trials.
